How to Get Nail Acrylics Off

How to Get Nail Acrylics Off

Acrylic nails are fashionable and convenient for women who have weak nails that don't grow well. However, acrylic nails eventually need to be removed. Removing them improperly can cause pain and damage the nail surface. There are guidelines that must be followed in order to safely remove acrylic nails. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    1

Set up an area to remove your acrylic nails. For instance, a table where you can comfortably sit for a little while is ideal. Prepare the area by having all the supplies you'll need at hand. Spread newspaper over the table surface to prevent damage to your furniture.

    2

Clip the acrylic nails down to where your natural nail begins. Clip as much of the acrylic as you can without clipping your own nail.

    3

Fill a bowl with nail polish remover. Ensure that there is enough to cover your nails once your fingers are dipped into the bowl.

    4

Apply a layer of petroleum jelly to the skin around your nails to protect your skin from dryness. Do not apply the petroleum jelly to the acrylic, as it will prevent the nail polish remover from loosening the glue.

    5

Submerge your fingers into the bowl of nail polish remover. Soak them for 30 minutes.

    6

Remove your fingers from the bowl. Attempt to gently peel off the acrylic nails. If they do not come off easily, stop and submerge your fingers into the nail polish remover again. Soak for five minutes before trying to peel off the acrylic nails.

    7

Wash your hands thoroughly once all the acrylic nails have been removed. Remove any excess glue from your nails with a cotton ball dipped in nail polish remover.

    8

Dry your hands. Apply olive oil or a hand moisturizer to combat drying of your skin.
