How to Remove French Polish

How to Remove French Polish

French manicures and pedicures are distinctive. The tip of the nail is painted in a bright white polish and then the entire nail, including the white tip, is covered in a clear or sheer polish tinted with pink. The finished look is elegant and versatile, complementing any style of dress or occasion. Removing the polish from a French manicure is just as easy as removing regular nail polish. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    1

Douse the cotton ball with nail polish remover. A non-acetone polish remover works well as it does not dry out the nail bed or cuticles. However, it does take a bit more effort to remove the polish. For darker polishes, such as deep reds or browns, an acetone polish remover is best, as it removes the polish more easily.

    2

Fit the remover-laced cotton ball over the tip of an orange wood stick. Lean over an old towel to prevent staining of counter tops or sinks. Use the stick to remove the polish, taking care not to rub the cotton over the tips of your fingers.

    3

Remove the polish by working the orange wood stick over the base of the nail from the cuticle toward the tip. Wipe the polish off as you stroke across the nail bed. Repeat this step for each finger until all of the polish is removed.

    4

Clean under the nails with the opposite end of the orange wood stick.

    5

Wash your hands with regular hand soap and thoroughly dry them.

    6

Work either cuticle cream or hand lotion into your cuticles and nail beds. Finish by applying lotion over your hands, forearms and elbows.
