How to Make an Origami Table

Making an origami table from origami paper requires folding the paper into a flat square with pointed legs. First form a "windmill" shape that has a square at the center and four blades that extend out. Then fold these blades to form the legs of the table.

Instructions

    1

Create a "book" by folding the paper in half then open it. Now fold each of the "book covers" in toward the center crease to form a "cupboard."

    2

Keep the "cupboard" closed, turn it horizontal and repeat Step 1 to form a small "book." Open the small "book" horizontal and fold each of your small "book covers" to the center crease to form a small "cupboard." The paper is a small square shape at this point. If you were to open the paper flat you should have 16 small squares based on the creases made by your earlier folds.

    3

Make a triangle by folding the top right corner of your square shape to the left bottom corner then open to the small "cupboard." Repeat with the left top corner to the bottom right corner and open once more to view the small "cupboard." When open you should see the appearance of an "X" created by the triangular folds.

    4

Turn the two flaps into four squares. Lift the corner of one flap and pull the underneath part out to a point. Push the point back down flat on top of the flap to form a square. Repeat with the other corner of the flap. Then repeat with the second flap so you end up with four squares.

    5

Form the windmill "blades" from the four squares. Pull the top layer of each square outward and press the edges together to form a "kite" shape. Do this with all four squares to form four "blades."

    6

Fold each "blade" in half inward to form legs. They should all be sticking up in the air.

    7

Flip the finished table over and stand it on its legs.
