How to Make an Art Table for a Playroom

How to Make an Art Table for a Playroom

Make a playroom enticing to your child by adding items such as child-sized chairs, tables and desks. This room will help your child explore his imagination through his artistic skills. Having an art table where your little artist can draw pictures is a great addition to this room. A mounted roll of paper and a few art supplies can transform any wooden table into an art table.

Instructions

    1

Starting from about 5 inches on the underside of the table, make two holes on the inside of the wooden table legs. Use a hand drill and a 3/16 inch drill bit.

    2

Attach a No. 6 screw eye into each hole by screwing the eye into the hole.

    3

Use a hand drill and a 1/16 inch drill bit to make a hole at the end of the dowel. Screw in a No. 8 dowel screw into the hole. Attach a round child-friendly decorative drawer pull to the screw.

    4

Insert the dowel through the eye, then screw on another matching drawer pull to secure the dowel to the table.

    5

Cut a thin strip of wood that matches the length of the table. Use the drill to make two holes on the other side of the table, farthest from the dowel. Attach the strip of wood to the table using wood screws and washers.

    6

Insert the dowel through a roll of art paper and attach it back to the table. Thread the paper through the strip of wood.
