How to Assemble a Y-Leg Pedestal Base

Y-leg pedestal bases are good for patio tabletops. The legs design gives leg room under the table when you pull up patio chairs. Most Y-leg pedestals require assembly once purchased from the manufacturer. The pedestal has either three or four legs and includes the necessary bolts for assembly. Assembling a Y-leg pedestal base is usually the same regardless of the manufacturer. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    1

Slide the flat washers over each securing bolt. Most Y-leg pedestals have two securing bolts for each leg. If you have four legs, there are eight bolts and washers.

    2

Align the mounting holes on one side of the center piece with the threaded, mounting holes on one of the pedestal legs. The center pieces open side should point the same direction as the pedestal legs foot.

    3

Thread the bolts through the center pieces mounting hole into the legs threaded holes. The bolts only need hand tightening at this point.

    4

Attach the remaining three legs to the center piece in the same way as you did the first leg. All the pedestal feet should point in the same direction.

    5

Place the assembled Y-pedestal on its top with the feet pointing in the air. Tighten all the securing bolts with a hex wrench. Turn the pedestal back over with the feet on the ground. The pedestal is now ready for the tabletop.
