How to Compare Air Hockey Tables

Purchasing an air hockey table can be a major investment. In selecting from the large variety of air hockey tables on the market you will need to make sure the one you pick will meet your needs.

Size

Size is an important factor when shopping for air hockey tables. You need to find a table that will fit in the space you wish to place it. Also, consider the height of the people who will use it. Younger children may have a problem reaching the center of a full-sized air hockey table.

Features

The two main features of air hockey tables are the scoring units and blower type. The two types of scoring units are electric and manual slide. Both are effective, but a manual slide is a cheaper method. Among blowers, in general the more powerful units are more expensive and provide a smoother glide.

Types

Air hockey tables come in different types. First is the traditional air hockey table with a puck and two air hockey paddles or "goalies." The dome hockey tables resemble a foosball table. Finally, a multigame table is a versatile table that has air hockey and can be converted to another game, such as pool.
