How to Fix a Scratch on a Resin Table

How to Fix a Scratch on a Resin Table

Glass tabletops, sometimes made of pure glass and other times made of glass and resin, are commonly used as coffee tables and other decorative pieces in the home. They are easy to clean and normally do not scratch easily. If you notice a scratch, however, you can use liquid resin to fill in the scratch and make the damage disappear. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    1

Mix a mild detergent, warm water and a few drops of denatured alcohol in a bucket until sudsy. Use your hands to mix it, and then wash the table with a cloth.

    2

Dampen another cloth with warm water, and then wipe down the resin surface. Dry it completely.

    3

Turn the razor blade corner downward and put it inside the crack to remove any loose resin shards that may be inside. This will help make the repair more clean-looking once complete.

    4

Fill the adhesive syringe with the liquid resin and fill the crack. Slowly push the resin out of the tip until the crack has been filled. Let the resin cure for a few hours before using the tabletop.

    5

Scrape any hardened resin off the surface by holding the blade at a 45-degree angle on the surface and running its edge across the repair.
