How to Use a Tabletop Lazy Susan

A tabletop Lazy Susan is a revolving tray that, when placed on a dinner table, rotates food items within reach. The Lazy Susan, first known as a dumbwaiter, came into in existence several centuries ago and was designed to replace the human butler who passed food around the dinner table. The dumbwaiter was later called Lazy Susan, a mocking term for a lazy female housekeeper. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    1

Place a large or dual-leveled Lazy Susan in the center of the dining table before dinner. Line it with a bread basket filled with assorted breads. Arrange condiments, salads and dressings, casserole and vegetable dishesany food items on it you feel it can rotate and serve, eliminating the need to interrupt others who are eating to pass food around the table.

    2

Apply light pressure with the fingertips to slowly start the Lazy Susan turning. Remove a dish, serve yourself, and then return the dish to the server.

    3

Clear the Lazy Susan after the main course. Assemble desserts, water, tea, coffee carafe, creamer and sugar on the server. Again, let each person rotate the turntable and serve himself.
