How to Decorate Tables for a Travel Business at a Show

Decorating your travel trade show booth boosts traffic, resulting in more sales. Set a tropical theme as potential customers are drawn to vibrant colors and fun associated with these types of vacations. Mixing promotional materials with festive decorations is the formula for booking more trips.

    Wear Hawaiian themed clothes, complemented with silk floral leis. Give booth visitors inexpensive plastic leis. Promoting cruises? Carry out a nautical theme with navy blue jackets and pants, white shirts and captain hats.

    Cover tables with ocean blue cloths, topped with nets. Display promotional brochures in large shells and business cards in small shells. Spread out iridescent green and blue rocks on the table that resembling sea glass. Place a life preserver in the center of the table where you have lettered: S.S. (insert business name). In the middle, place promotional giveaways like key chains, luggage tags or Lifesaver candy.

    Carry the theme to other parts of your designated area. Display travel posters on the wall behind your booth, placed at various angles. Stack a few suitcases against the back wall as subliminal trip advertising.

    Drive traffic to your booth by having prize drawings. Ask the cruise or vacation company for items bearing their logo to give away. All you'll need is a fishbowl, entry blanks and pens. An added bonus is a new database of potential customers can be created with the entry information.

    Arrange with the trade show organizer to have an electrical outlet available. Hide a CD player behind a silk plant. Play steel drum music softly in the background. Set a television up playing a continuous loop of promotional travel DVDs.
