How to Display Wedding Cards

How to Display Wedding Cards

Wedding cards are usually placed on a table by the receiving area of your reception venue, to act as escort cards and make it easier for your guests to find their seats. Line them up alphabetically, so guests can easily find their names. They can also be placed by each table setting, to mark each guest's specific seat or double as wedding favors. Create your wedding cards with paper matching your stationery suite or according to your theme, for a unified look.

Instructions

    1

Frame the cards using small, decorative picture frames with stand. Line them up on a table by the entrance or place them by each table setting, to mark the guest's seat. Find artistic frames in vintage, retro or modern designs, depending on your wedding theme, for a creative touch. Placecards in artsy frames also double as wedding favors.

    2

Tented escort cards are the simplest form of seating cards, so the challenge is how to display them with a touch of creativity. Line the cards atop a pillow of flowers or simply embellish them with details that tie them together with your wedding theme. Or decorate the table with elements according to your motif so the cards won't look so plain.

    3

Write each guest name and table number on rectangular strips of paper or paper cut in the shape of clothes, flowers, shells or other details according to your wedding theme. Hang them with clothespins on clotheslines by the entrance, so guests can just pull their name out and proceed to their respective seats. Use twine or ribbons as clotheslines for an elegant touch.

    4

Write the guest name and table number on gift cards. Attach them to gift boxes containing your wedding favors, and place them on their assigned tables for dual use. If you're not using boxes for the favors, simply attach the cards to the gifts with string, ribbon or twine.

    5

Use notecard holders bearing your wedding motif to display your wedding cards. Line them up by the receiving area or place them on each table setting for added creativity and for guests' easy reference.

    6

Tie the cards onto fruits like apples or pears, and place them on top of the wedding menu by each table setting. This keeps the menu cards in place and unifies the elements in your table setting.

    7

Let the seating cards hang from a wall by the entrance, using ribbon tapestry. Use long ribbons in your wedding color, in satin or organza fabric for an elegant touch. Add bows, buttons or push pins for creative embellishment.
