Table Decorating for Trade Shows

Table Decorating for Trade Shows

Product Presentation

The most important aspect of decorating a table for a trade show is to showcase your products in the best possible light. No matter what type of widget you're selling, create a presentation that will invite the trade-show visitors to stop and take a closer look at your product. For example, if you are selling cookware, stage cooking demonstrations once each hour. Electronic products like cell phones or video players should highlight what makes them different and better than their competition. At a trade show, your booth allows you to advertise in the background, but the table decoration is the hands-on part of your sales strategy.

Draw Attention

Compel the trade-show crowd to check out your table with decorations that draw attention. Balloons with "Free" printed on them in an arrangement tall enough to be noticed will move the visitors in your direction. Have an arrangement of free pens or whistles shaped like your widget beneath the balloons. The better the giveaway, the greater the number of visitors you will have at your table. Make sure to have the name, website and phone number of your company printed on your giveaways. Fragrances are another way to draw attention to your trade-show table. Your product does not need to be related to aromatics in any way to offer a pleasant aroma to the trade-show guests wandering by your booth. People will look around to find the scent, and there you are, smiling behind your table, ready to talk about your product.

Collecting Potential Information

Once you have the potential customer standing in front of your table at the trade show, part of the decorations should include a way to collect their information. Offer a drawing for a free whatever you are selling and you may end up with the contact information for hundreds of people interested in your product. Place a bowl to collect business cards beside the stack of freebies you are giving away; add a holder next to the bowl containing your business cards for them to take as well. If you have a long table, decorate it the same on both ends, so that you can separate the crowds that will surely surround your presentation. Brochures and information packets should be placed in the middle of the table, allowing you to easily greet any interested trade-show participants.
