DIY Art Deco Table Numbers

Table numbers are a great way to let your guests know where they are sitting. If your event has an art deco style, you will want to make numbers that match the theme. Art deco is an art movement first seen in the 1920s, when geometric, bold line shapes and items were popular. Make the table numbers of sturdy materials so they can be reused. Instructions

    Ask your home improvement store to cut your wooden planks to 6 inches in height. Have them cut as many pieces as you need for your tables.

    Sand any rough areas on the wood pieces smooth.

    Paint the blocks in a color of your choice. Art deco was known for bright colors. Allow the paint to dry.

    Search the internet for art deco fonts. Download the font to your computer and save them in a file of your choice.

    Double click on the font in the folder you saved it in. When the window opens, click Install.

    Open Microsoft Word. Type the numbers you need for your tables. Adjust the font size to 400. Change the font color if you choose.

    Print out the numbers on card stock. Cut out the numbers with scissors.

    Paint the blocks with a coat of decoupage paste. Smooth the numbers onto the blocks. Allow the decoupage paste to dry.

    Cover the table numbers with another coat of decoupage paste and allow them to dry.
