How to Get Nail Polish Remover Off Tile

Nail polish remover is an invaluable, inexpensive way to clean your nails, walls, floors and anywhere else the spilled polish lands. Unfortunately, an accidental flip of the wrist causes the nail polish remover to land onto tile flooring. If left untreated the two main ingredients, acetone and ethyl acetate, in nail polish removers can cause unsightly discolorations. Clean up the nail polish remover before it has a chance to permanently stain your tile. Does this Spark an idea?

    Soak up the nail polish remover immediately with paper towel. For bigger spills, use an unwanted towel to remove the nail polish remover before it begins to soak into the tile.

    Create a mixture of 4 cups lukewarm water, one-half tablespoon mild liquid dish soap and one-half cup white vinegar. Stir the water until the ingredients are well-incorporated.

    Dampen a soft cloth with the mixture and wipe down the tile flooring to remove any remaining fingernail polish residue.

    Rinse the flooring with lukewarm water and dry with a soft cloth to prevent streaking.
