How to Decorate a Coffee Table for Fall

Instead of going outside to see all the beauty that fall has to offer, you can bring a little bit of it into your home. You can create a wonderful display right on the coffee table in your living room, where both you and your guests can frequently see it. Here are some simple, inexpensive display ideas that will take you minimal time to create. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    1

Put together a fall bouquet. Instead of using a vase, use a plain wicker basket. Get some floral foam from the craft store and put it inside. Pick up some faux flowers in fall shades and stick them in the foam. Take a few and also lay them at the base of the basket. Tie a gold- or orange-colored bow around the handle of the basket or around the base for your final touch.

    2

Construct a fall candle display. Lay out a square piece of fabric on the center of the coffee table that is in a solid fall shade or has a leaf pattern. Buy tall glass candle holders or use red wine glasses. Put small off-white pillar candles or votive candles in each one. Pile up pumpkin seeds around each candle until it reaches half the candle's height. Finally, take a strand of faux fall-colored leaves and tie it around the base of the candle holder.

    3

Create a pumpkin and hay display. Buy some mini hay bales from your local craft store and lay them out on the coffee table in one area, putting some on top of each other. You need quite a few, depending on how large a display you want. Pick up some mini pumpkins, then put them on top of the hay. Use some faux fall leaves and sprinkle them in between the pumpkins. It's a simple display, but gorgeous nonetheless.

    4

Lay out Indian corn with a giant candle. Indian corn is brightly colored and screams fall. Take four bunches of it and form it into a square on your coffee table, then take a large, fat pillar candle and put it directly in the middle of the square. If you like, you can also put a piece of bright orange fabric underneath to bring out the colors of the Indian corn. It's an easy, inexpensive display you can do in minutes.
