Decorating the Table for a Princess Tea Party

Gather up your daughter's friends, tell them to dress in their most frilly of dresses and prepare to have a lot of fun at a princess tea party. But first, assemble a simple centerpiece to decorate the tea party table so the girls feel like true royalty. You don't have to spend a lot, and may even have some of the necessary supplies already around your home. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    1

Peel as much of the label from the tin can as you can with just your fingers. Soak the can in warm soapy water for five to 10 minutes. Use a scratchy pad to remove the rest of the label and label adhesive from the can. Set the can upside down in the drained sink to dry.

    2

Paint the can a solid color once it is completely dry. If more than one coat is needed for complete coverage, allow each coat of acrylic paint to dry completely before adding another coat. Let the paint dry completely.

    3

Tie a ribbon around the center of the can in a neat bow. Trim the tails of the bow at a 45-degree slant.

    4

Lightly spray the petals of the silk flowers with spray adhesive. Sprinkle a light dusting of glitter over the petals of the flowers so some glitter catches on the adhesive. Allow the flowers to dry for a few minutes before arranging them in the decorated can. Place the flower can in the center of the table.

    5

Place three to five, depending on the size of the table, teacups on saucers around the can of flowers. Place a tea candle in each teacup and light the candles. Use battery-powered tea lights in place of candles for younger children.
