How to Download and Play Snooker Games

The game of snooker is usually played on a table measuring 12 feet by 6 feet. It is derived from the game of billiards and requires considerable skill with a cue to excel at the game. Snooker is usually played with fifteen red balls and six different colored balls but there are smaller table versions with ten red balls. Playing snooker online is possible but few sites are exclusively dedicated to snooker. Many game sites offer traditional pool and snooker alternatives.

Instructions

    1

Download a snooker game from a website that offers variations of the game such as Quicksnooker or SnookerGameOnline. Some games can be played online as well as offline with other players, or with a guest on the same computer. Follow the download instructions given by the game website. Your computer will create a desktop shortcut to the downloaded game file.

    2

Open the game application. You may be prompted for setup information and given choices on how you would like to play. You can choose to play online with other players, just for fun against the computer, or play with another player on the same computer.

    3

Use your mouse to place the cue ball in a position to "break" the balls. Click the right mouse button. Click the white ball again for the cue to appear. You will see a center dot on the face of the cue ball. Note that when you move your mouse without clicking the buttons, the cue ball (usually the white ball) moves within the "D" area.

    4

Play the game by moving your mouse away or closer to you and note the percentage number that appears above it. That is the percentage of power you are putting behind the cue ball for your shot. Click the white ball when you are happy with the percentage number. This will set the ball in motion and will represent your shot. When the ball stops, it will be your opponent's turn.

    5

Click the right mouse button before you take your shot and hold it down. Notice that as you move the mouse, the dot on the face of the cue ball will move. This allows you to put screw back on the ball, spin it to the right or left, or put top spin on the ball. Using this feature will allow you to learn positioning so that you can shoot a better break and increase your score.

    6

Clear the table by potting a red ball, then a color, until the reds are gone. At the end of the game, click "File" and "New Game" to start another game.
